Award-winning filmmaker Tjardus Greidanus has over 25 years of experience in all facets of the filmmaking process. Dutch-born and with dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship, he has successfully straddled documentary and narrative filmmaking, with deep cross-disciplinary expertise. After beginning his career in production on features like UNFORGIVEN, THIS BOY’S LIFE and HEAVEN AND EARTH, and the television series THE X-FILES, Tjardus cut his teeth as a director, editor and cinematographer creating HBO Specials for Michael Mann, James L. Brooks and Cameron Crowe. BURDEN OF GENIUS, his feature documentary, won its category at the Cleveland International Film Festival and the Raw Science Film Festival. A NEW YORK HEARTBEAT, his first feature, gave Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Rachel Brosnahan (THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL) her first starring role, and won New Filmmakers LA Best Feature Award. He is currently prepping the dramatic feature, THE SHOT, about maverick scientist Jonas Salk and his creation of the polio vaccine.
